Mom's Surprise Birthday at Great Wall Restaurant

My sister, Terri and hubby George organized a surprise birthday gathering at the Great Wall Chinese restaurant in Augusta. We had a good time chatting and playing with the kids. It is a HUGE building, it used to be a roller skating rink. It is very nice and food fresh. The waitress, is from China and asked some questions about AA. It was good to talk to her and ask about where she is from (near Shanghai); her first question to me was "Is your husband Chinese?". Then she was very curious about why we would adopt a Chinese girl. I didn't feel comfortable explaining all the reasons, so kept it very high level about wanting another daughter, so a China adoption was the best choice for us. She was very sweet.
We enjoyed the visit with family, always too short. Here's a few pictures.

The birthday Mom with three daughters:

Sweet Kimberlee with Grandpa George:
Best friend, Debbie, brought a cute white rabbit Pillow Pet for AA; just in time for Chinese New Year, year of the rabbit. Thank you Deb!

Aunt Patti playing with her great-niece and great-great-nephews (or is that "grand-grand-nephews?). Thank you Patti for gift of a Boyd Bear Bunny rabbit for AA! Auntie Jean also brought a gift for AA; she loves the ponies and scarfs! AA is so lucky to have so many generous Aunts!

All smiles when she was playing with cousin Andrew:
Back home, goofing around with Auntie-M; I am on the floor, something we don't do much at our home due to the very HARD tile floors:
Thank you again to Terri and George for pulling the family gathering together!!

Where is home, in Maine? Just asking because my cousins are in Augusta, Auburn, Wales, Lewiston, Canton, Hebron, Buckfield, and a bunch of other places besides.

Looks like a wonderful celebration for your mom....to have her girls around her and all the family and friends.

That can't be AA on your legs in that last picture....that looks like a 10 year old!!!!!!
