So Disheartening.... Finding the Positive

This is an article (from rainbowkids.com) that seems to present the facts about international adoption; presented in a way that those who are waiting for their new children or those who are close to a waiting family can catch up on the history about international adoption.
The title isn't very flattering, but I guess it got my attention... Comments from those who are waiting?
Too Old, Too Fat, Too Many Kids

(Update from our Facebook notes, bad colds have been around our home, we have been sick for one week. AA is coughing, hoping she is improving otherwise the Doctor is in our future on Monday and DH is sick with a cold too. I have recovered from a mild cold last weekend and now am just waiting until the real bad one jumps on me.......I am running as fast as I can......)

Very interesting article and although I may be reading it wrong but they seem to attribute some of the decline in China due the to new rules. Those will not even begin to affect the numbers until they a have referred April 2007 (our LID) and that is still a long way off. It is sad that there are still so many children out there and it seems so hard to connect them with waiting families. Thanks for sharing.

I hope you all get to feeling better soon, it has really been a terrible cold and flu season this year.

Take Care,
Cora

Very interesting article. When we started the process in 2008(LID 11-13-2008), we knew exactly what we were getting into. We knew we would have to be patient. Very patient!!!
Although the WAIT isn't easy, we plan on holding on for as long as it takes. As the article says: we are putting one foot in front of the other, and looking ahead. We have found lots of support through blogs and meeting fellow bloggers. Our journey (with all its ups and downs and uncertainties) has been filled with hope! Thanks for sharing this article with us.
Hope you all feel better soon.

What isn't mentioned in this article is people who have been matched with kids for nearly two years (us, Haiti) and the country processes paperwork so slowly that kids are sitting in orphanages while they are matched with families, and kids are literally DYING of starvation and illness because the orphanages are so full they can't take in new kids.

We are soooo grateful that our Miss Olivia is home from China. She helps us get through the wait for the others.

Blessings. Glad to check in...I have been a bad blogger lately!!

Oh, and I agree with Cora. That people are even writing that China's delays are due to the new rules puffs up the chests of those in China who thought of that idea, as they are seeing their propaganda in print.
