We had a wonderful time at the beach, always enjoy having a place to park our car, clothes, lunch and family at cousins Gloria and Joan's condo. On Sunday, we enjoyed three walks on the beach.
First was AA and I for our Mother's Day morning stroll at 7:30 a.m., second was with Aunt Patti and the last, when Aunt CR drove in for the afternoon visit.
Early morning, sun very low, long shadows.... a quiet stroll and walk along the edge of the waves.
A kind jogger stopped and asked if we wanted a picture of the two of us. I almost refused and thanked him, and then I thought, this is our first Mother's Day together and our quiet morning to be just the two of us, so a picture would be great (DH was home feeding the Salty Dog as we can't bring him to the condo). So here's our "bright, sun in our eyes", AA's scorn at a stranger looking at us and rumpled (me!); what a morning portrait!
Second time, after bathing, pretty summer dress, being braver in the waves, playing with Aunt Patti from Maine.....
Aunt CR jumped in the water, AA back in her bathing suit, enjoying the wider beach, shells and sand on our feet.
Saturday was a great Mother's Day celebration as DD Leaa and her Mom #1 plus her sister Christa all went to the musical Wicked (I have a photo of us but it is on another camera... will post it later).
If you are a Wizard of Oz lover, you must see this musical. The most enjoyable part of it was the lead "Wicked Witch of the West's" voice. She was from the original Broadway show and her voice was incredible. This musical tells the history of the witches in the Wizard of Oz movie and has many twists and turns. The four of us enjoyed it and had some mother time sharing our daughter! Thank you to Leaa for arranging for us!
Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Looks like you had a great Mother's Day at the beach! AA's a little cutie!
Looks like you had a lot of fun!! I was instructed to come here by my 5 year old who saw "the horse" LOL on another blog.
I will have to come back if that's OK
and read more of your posts! Happy Mother's Day.
Natalie
Excellent pictures--weather is warmer here, but not at all "hot" yet. I am interested in hearing about what effect the sun as on your daughter's skin--my daughter is from the far SW of China, one of the "three furnaces" and I wonder if the sun is something we need to worry about for her.
Wasn't Mother's Day the bomb this year! Looks like you had a great day.
AH man--my favorite movie!!
Love you!
Mel
Sounds like a perfect day!
I saw Wicked in NYC and LOVED it! Makes you rethink about the wicked witch doesn't it??
Happy Belated Mother's Day to you! I love the pictues, it looks like so much fun. Frank and I saw Wicked in Chicago last year and it was awesome. It is coming to San Antonio in June and we might just have to take our girls!
Love, Kristy
Looks and sounds like you had a very nice Mothers day.
AA sure is growing! And her hair is just adorable!
What a great first Mother's Day -- not much that beats the beach, is there!
Have a great week!
Janet
