Really? It's Been 6 Months!

September 2008. The White Swan. Guangzhou, China

Six months... No kidding, it's been that long?
That being the case, it's time to bake the cookies, pick up the clutter and make for a happy, cheerful home. Our SW is coming for the first of two post adoption interviews. And you know what? That's cool with us.

We like our SW so when we received a message from him saying our six month review was due we actually found ourselves looking forward to it. Mr. P endured the Wait right along with us AND we know he will genuinely love meeting Alyzabeth An. We have been very fortunate to have had Mr. P throughout this journey. We know this is not always the case and the angst of not having this type of continuity would be something adoptive parents could most certainly do without.

Alyzabeth. March 2009

Oh, and the deal about picking up the clutter. Well, we'll probably make the cookies or maybe Aly will whip up one of her famous cheese cakes. And no doubt Alyzabeth will get a fresh bath and something pretty to wear but the uncluttered house...

That is probably on hold for a while.
We're pretty sure that with a 2 year old running about, Mr. P will understand :)
peace

Social worker visits are a bit more fun AFTER the child is home, don't you think? I always cleaned like a mad man knowing they were coming over for a homestudy visit, but when they come for post placement I just make cookies!
Happy 6 months! What a beautiful girl Alyzabeth An is :)

I agree with Stefanie... SW visits are more fun once you are home with your child. We adore our SW, but it was still more fun once the Tongginator came home. Congrats on six months together!!!!

I can't believe it's been 6 months already. Really? It just doesn't seem that long ago that you were in China.

PS. AA just gets more and more beautiful with each passing day.

Six months already, amazing! It just doesn't seem like that long ago that I watched your in china videos showing your family getting a very early start on the breakfast buffet!

Isn't it fantastic how they grow and change? We're at almost 3 mos and I'm constantly amazed by G.

HAPPY 6 MONTHS!!!!!!!! It seems like yesterday you two were front page news trodding through water past your ankles in China and walking the halls with AA.

What a wonderful 6 months it has been to watch the 3 of you grow together as a family.
