A Bright Pearl

"She is a bright pearl in the orphanage's palm".

We recently received additional information from our agency on Alyzabeth An. Due to the personal nature of the information, we've made the decision not to share it publicly.
It is the story of Alyzabeth's beginning. Her story. A story she may one day choose to share.

Included was a bit more medical data and insight into her daily schedule and activities. I find myself reading it over and over captivated by the chronological glimpses of her ongoing development, all the while searching for minute pieces of her personality.

"She is a bright pearl in the orphanage's palm".
This was the closing comment from Alyzabeth's caregivers as translated by our agency.

I don't think I will ever forget those words.
Our bright pearl.....
peace

Ford and Aly,

I remember hanging on to every word written in JM's reports. I especially loved that she was known as a quiet and lovely child. And lovely she is. (She is learning to be less and less quiet as time goes by.) I am overcome with emotion as I read about your pearl. We can't wait to meet her.

Ford and Alyson -- Those are lovely words. I know you treasure them. The Tongginator's SWI got many, many things wrong in our daughter's referral packet (fairly unusual, I'm told), but her personality report was SPOT ON. "She sometimes becomes impatient when she sees food." (Oh. Goodness. She STILL does and she's not hungry anymore. And does this little gal love to cook.) "She is very outgoing, but tends to be shy." (That one thoroughly confused me until we learned more about the Tongginator's sensory issues -- yes, she is extremely outgoing, but she doesn't like to be touched.) And it went on from there. You'll be able to look back at so many things after you meet your daughter and think, 'oh, so THAT's what they meant.'

That's so wonderful! We got our additional info as well. Isn't it nice? Maybe we'll even get updates before we travel.
What a treasured comment about your daughter - so personal coming from one of the caregivers. A nice link for your family in the future.

Now if we could just get TA...
