Many of our adoptive blogger friends are agonizing over the latest bump in our road to China. The official adoption office in China, the CCAA, had been posting on their website the dates indicating where families were in the adoption process.
Well, as you can see from the box on the left, that little piece of info has been removed. Who knows why... If you're not careful you'll go off the deep end reading too much into it. Stay cool and rest assured that those of us in "The Wait" and those in "The Chase" will find a way to share the coveted info with one another.
Oh, and then there was this "wonderful" little piece of news received from their agency and passed along by our friends over at Watch Our Family Grow.
Estimated referral time lines:
2008 - Up to mid March - somewhere between the 14th & 20
2009 - Up to Mid May - somewhere between the 20th & 30th
2010 - Up to the end of August (remember this is a 2006 LID)
2011 - Up to the end of November
2012 - The beginning of December.
With an LID of 01/27/06 we now consider ourselves fortunate to know that it appears we will have our little one in 2008, maybe even late summer 2008. However, that joy is offset by knowing so many of our friends have a much longer "Wait" ahead of them. Much longer than any of us ever dreamed when our journeys began.

I don't believe that estimated time..
But everyone can choose to think what they want...
You will have Alyzabeth An soon...
I have loved following your journey...
Can't wait to see her in your arms...
Hugs to you both
That's pure crud! There is so NO reason for delays that long!!! Can't wait to see your referral soon.. hopefully in the next couple of months
You have got to be kidding!!
I work with someone with an LID of 1/07. That means she will not get a referral for another 4 years!!
Oh...Say it isn't so!!
How can these agencies survive?!
I guess we are considered lucky with a 2+ year wait.
Thanks for posting this bit of info.
Wow, hang in there! Keep your chins up.
A & F, At first I was worried, but then I realized that all of us will be super diligent about keeping each other updated on 'documents processing' updates we hear from our agencies. another reason I am proud to blog! :) -Lili
Alyson,
I too posted about the most recent move by the CCAA. As for the estimated timelines - not really sure what to say about it! I find it hard to swallow that those individuals who chose to sign up now, did so with the knowledge that it would be 4+ years. I'm sure to say that I would have or at least would have done some other things concurrently.
As for those of us with Jan 06 LID's right now I am just praying we can travel before July 08 is over as that is when our fingerprints expire on our second round of immigration paperwork. Ugghh!
I do like your predictions, it means we'll be in 2008... I'm not convinced though!!!
Oh yeah, and if you get a minute, pop over to my place, I have something for ya! www.aust2china.blogspot.com
Oh my - that really stinks but there really isn't much we can do. I'm so happy that you guys will see your daughter this year! Wow - isn't that exciting!!!
By the way - thanks for the thoughts!

I trust in China's ability to surprise us... so I hold on in hope.
UGHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to your referral picture this year and maybe, just maybe, I won't be so terribly far behind.
As time marches on, I hope those estimates improve. Hard to say but there are bound to many changes in the look of the dossier stack over the coming few years.
