My oldest and most unique cat died last night. Her name was "CB" which stood for "coon bait" and she was 19 1/2 years old. She had been declining over the past 6 months but she was still eating and moving about, if slowly.
I "adopted" her when, as a 6 week old kitten, in a rainstorm, in the parking lot at work, where she was just sitting near my parking spot. There were many wild cats at the construction site and kittens were appearing spring of 1988. I immediately scooped her up knowing she wouldn't be in this world long if I didn't take her inside. Of course my poor DH didn't have much choice in the matter......
We named her CB the first week when she was on our screen porch and some raccoons broke through the screening to get to the cat food. CB would sit on a chair and watch them eat her food.
Later CB was known to be DH's mother's cat when she visited as CB would walk with her throughout the neighborhood, just like a dog, following her everywhere.
Good bye sweet friend!

Don & Be
There is nothing to say that will comfort you in your loss. But, I do agree with Don and Be that you were blessed to have 19 wonderful years with CB.
May she be peaceful and playing...
Thoughts are with you both.
I am so sorry. We had a special cat too. It is hard to feel like your home is whole when they are gone.
19 is amazing. Hugs, you. XO
I am so sorry...
But 19 years is really amazing... and all the special times you will cherish...
Hugs

So sorry for your loss of CB. Gotta love what her name stood for!
((hugs))
19 1/2 years?? That is amazing to say the least. I dont' think I've ever known anybody who had a pet live that long. She must have been living one good life.. that is for sure. I know she is looking down on you now and thanking you for that special day of adoption so long ago. You could have left her there but you took her into your heart and loved her. Hmmm.. sound familiar? :0)
Blessings and Hugs to you as you go through this time of sorrow.
Sorry about your loss. I had two siamese cats for 20 years. They passed away within a few months from each other. Still today I get sad when I see their pictures and remember all the companionship and love they gave me.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
My deepest sympathies.
Hugs!
We "adopted" our cat in very similar circumstances! He was a ginger tabby, his name was TC (Top Cat... very original!) He passed on a few years ago, after a car accident.
(((hugs))) to you both, it's never easy losing a fur-family member.
So sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you.
(((HUGS)))
Smiles! :o)
Nikki
So sorry to hear about loosing your little family member. We will be thinking about you.
