Sunday - Monday - Quiet Days

As you can track, I post on my days off from work, and then quiet for many days, same on Facebook.

Sunday, I baked blueberry muffins, second time using the recipe with one cup sour cream in it. Adds to the "coffee cake" flavor. We gave four to our neighbor Joe, who lost his wife Phyllis a few weeks ago to cancer (they only knew for two days before her passing). He remarked to Ford, that with 16 homes on our street and very few "democrats", the democrats were the only ones who brought him food (3 families) and came to his door to offer condolences (we did, standing outside his front door, visiting while he stood in his doorway). Very Republican area (NE Florida), and about same percentage in our prior neighborhood, about 30% total known as Democrats. He said his daughter was very comfortable with me and one other neighbor, so she is entrusting us with a key to his home now. We have been here about 14 months and have about 6 neighbors we have been friendly with, been able to get to know beyond the "Good Mornings".
My Mom sent this photo - mainly to tell me she has not had a haircut in a very long time, but I like that she is wearing a mask to protect others and herself!
Sunday, AA and I rode our bikes to the lakeside pool and the swim (main) pool which was 6 miles. We took about 55 minutes as our bikes are old and heavy, and I did slow down a few times!
After a rest and showering, we decided to take AA to the local Barnes and Noble. We have ordered on line but decided it was time to be serious about living with this virus and protect ourselves too. We all wore masks, the doors were wide open (I had a "Clorox wipe" in my hand in case one of us had to touch something). About half the customers were wearing masks and all employees were wearing them. We didn't stay long, bought the 8th Grade Summer Bridge book for AA's summer school work (plus her OPJH Spanish teacher is giving them summer work) and AA bought a JAVA programming book with her own birthday/Christmas money. We survived! We still are having our groceries delivered but may stop that soon. Our zip code has very few cases, but will continue to respect the CDC recommendations and FOLLOW them!
For dinner I made a new "sheet pan" recipe, very easy with few ingredients: chop the broccoli, peel raw shrimp (I cut jumbo shrimp in half), minced fresh ginger, mixed the sauce and made rice. Easy, just many steps. We loved it! Hint of heat and spice from the bottled chili garlic sauce!
Monday: A lazy morning, catching up on emails and reading; AA plays her new Switch game alot - Animal Crossing. And she received her invitation into the National Junior Honor Society! Wahoo!  School is just about out for summer!
And we rode another 6 mile bike ride!! Took about 45 minutes this time. We are loving it! But, with me working the next five days, probably won't go until the weekend. And my bike is really uncomfortable, so a new one will be picked out soon! Maybe this week Ford can get AA with Ian for a ride.
We stocked up on more wine at the local ABC (wearing masks) and lunch on Tijuana Flats' outside patio. And Georgia has opened up bars as of today. Maybe the River House will open soon, but we will go only if we can get to the river deck without bumping into people!
After 4 p.m., AA and Ford went to the golf course, practiced with Coach Bryan and her new driver, played five holes with him, then the back nine alone with her Daddy. A hot day, but lots of wind with scattered showers.
And so our Monday went.
