We are so happy for AA, playing well in the Girls Rising 13 - 17 Division; she was the youngest in the tournament for all Girls.
AA said she played pretty well, putted well. She had no double bogeys except for a 6 on a Par 3 - she hit her drive into a tree branch, her chip failed to make the green, etc. Overall, a good game.
She impressed Coach Bryan, he told this story: she pulled a club to use - the shot was over water on the No. 11 hole, re-shot the distance, switched clubs, hit one chip, one putt for par. Impressed that she re-evaluated her situation, didn't gamble with her first impression. Photo: Ashley (3rd), Daisy (2nd) and AA:

Director Jack's Report:
Situated on the St. Johns River, Timuquana Country Club is most likely one of the prettiest views you will find of the river and city of Jacksonville. Arriving in the wee morning hours of darkness to prepare for the final NFJG TOUR Summer Tournament Series event the skyline was bright and well lite regardless of the cloud cover which tried to hide the cities beauty. As the sun yawned and stretched across the skies the spectacular view at day break down and across the river would start anyone’s day off right.
In the Rising Tour Girls – Alyzabeth Morgan would be back on TOUR and back at it again. This young talent must still have room in the trophy case for a few more medals and trophies and she is hard pressed to fill those voids and to make her imprint on the NFJG TOUR. Morgan fired a nicely done 82 to claim the Gold Medal. Morgan would birdie the opening hole and that would prove to be very valuable in the end in a very tough contest of back and forth between the top three players. Right behind Morgan would be fresh out of the Foundation Division Ms. Daisy Adams who was making an imprint of her own. Adams would post up a score of 83 for her low round on tour to take home the Silver Medal. Last week’s Junior Amateur Champion Ashley Huffman would round out the medalist stand with a solid round of 85 and the Bronze Medal.
On Facebook, Ford replied to a post by Shauwn Coultoff's Dad, Eric said about Rory trying to get some fun back in his game.
Ford Alyson Cobb Morgan fm - It's the #1 question always asked when it becomes known your kid plays golf. Do they have fun? Well, for us, the answer is sometimes yes and sometimes not so much. Practice isn't always fun. Then again, most kids don't jump for joy when the parent reminds them to practice the piano. Tournaments bring a certain amount of stress. Then again, so do soccer games and tests at school. It's a learning process in dealing with emotions. For Alyzabeth and her mom and I. Balancing is a never ending dance but it is one we always need reminding of. It's tough at their level. This age. I'm confident you're doing your best. Just like they are. Are they having fun? Most of the time. Is it hard work? Yes. Most things will be that they strive for. We've all witnessed the parent playing the game through their child. It's not a pretty sight. I don't think any of us forget the importance of having fun but it's not an easy journey... Keep it in the short grass and Go Low! :)
Really, team sports have team spirit, rally around the team members, encourage, keep up the energy. Who does the lone golfer have? And why do most people ask us if AA is having fun? Do they ask every boy on his junior high football team after every practice if he is having fun? We have not figured this over whelming desire for people to ask is she having fun?
