Week of Thanksgiving

I was able to go with them for a practice round at Eagle Harbor on Monday. AA loves driving the golf cart - doesn't every kid?

The remodeled Club house was not open yet, but has since opened as the new "Talon's" restaurant. We look forward to being able to use permanent restrooms and buy a few beverages!
Clark Park - beginning our "monkey bar challenge" to strengthen our arms. AA played with a school-mate for awhile too.
We put up some LED icicle lights I purchased last year after Christmas. Most of the patio homes in our neighborhood have them over their garages:
After Thanksgiving, Ford smoked a turkey and I roasted one for another turkey meal with Nana Joy:
Began digging out the Christmas decorations. The tree goes up next weekend!
The tree Alyzabeth bought for me last year, from the Library fund-raiser:
Turkey from our Saturday meal:
I tried a little art work - some chalkboard signs for our porch:
Happy December!

Sunday NFJG - Hidden Hills 11/29/15

Another great golf tournament by NFJG - at Hidden Hills (off Monument). From Facebook:
AA's golf game was pretty good; the best part was only 16 putts. She had three "not her best holes" (one with a penalty - hit the water); but her drives were good (2484 yards). Two sweet families to play with and walk the nine holes; plus having Nana Joy with us; her first time at a golf tournament! Over all second place at another great NFJG run tournament. ‪#‎AlyzabethMorganGolf‬ at Hidden Hills Golf Course (Jacksonville).
Daddy Caddie and Daughter at Hole #1 - waiting to start the tournament.

Ninth hole - a good game, good families to walk with.
Scoring tent:
The awards - Kylie Turner in first place, Alyzabeth in second, then Ebby Somers (Valdosta):
I did not get a photo of Nana Joy walking with me (she said another item to cross off her bucket list!); a nice course, very hilly, pleasant day in the mid-70's and sunny! Perfect!
From Jack Aschenbach's newsletter: Foundation Girls - Our Foundation Girls would also have a good test of golf as they too had to face the tough front side at Hidden Hills. Kylie Turner took the early lead over Alyzabeth Morgan and Ebby Somers and never looked back as she carded a nice par on the tough fourth and seventh holes resulting in a great score of 49 on the day, four strokes ahead Morgan who again takes home another medal. Ebby Somers played steady golf, but also came victim to the Par-5 fourth hole. Great job Ladies and get that game sharp for the Battle at North Hampton!

Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving visit at Cathy and Werner's home. They hosted dinner with all the "fixins" and the kids all played together. The weather was just warm enough for a lovely day outside too. We took several group photos and since I forgot to bring the "good" camera, these are all taken with a variety of cell phones. The Hollaway Family (Christa, Nicole, Justin, Leaa and parents Cathy and Werner):

The entire GANG! Including Nana Joy Morgan, visiting from Okeechobee! Front Row: Alyzabeth, Alivia, Dylan and Jordan; Row 2: Nicole holding Avery. Row 3: Kilee standing/crouching on lawn chair. Remaining Rows: Ford and Alyson; Nana Joy next to Grandson Justin, behind them are Charles and Angie; Christa holding her niece Mila, Jesse behind wife Leaa, then Cathy and Werner.
I managed to catch the girls in the "play room": Kilee holding Avery; Dylan, Alivia holding Mila, AA.
We had the Hollaway talent Show: First up was Dylan singing Do-Re-Me. Next was Kilee's recital as Clara from the Nutcracker Ballet. She was in her costume and ballet shoes, along with her nutcracker (Livi assisted for the "breaking of the nutcracker"). Kilee did a fabulous job!
Last, Alyzabeth and Alivia sang the 12 Days of Christmas. They alternated singing each verse, then did the final 12 days verse together. Livi has a sweet voice and Alyzabeth was a champion doing her first talent show performance in front of family! (yes, even had a sound system and microphone!)
 Kilee as Clara:
Same photo above, one cropped more than the other. There were isolated rain showers, but the sun was out most of the day. The six girls all had fun and we ate too much - it was delicious! Thank you to all who brought a tasty dish!

Everything Except Golf and Horses!

We had a busy week with Ford's Birthday, Alyzabeth sleeping over at her sister's Leaa's house over Veteran's Day. We used Ford's birthday gift - a waffle iron and they were pretty good. I used the Bisquick recipe as that is what I had on hand. We will be looking for a fluffier recipe with buttermilk (I did perfect a revised recipe by adding baking powder and buttermilk to the Bisquick recipe).

I began using my One Pie pumpkin pie puree by making two batches of pumpkin bread. My Mom sent me six cans since I FORGOT to buy some while in Maine this past August; she saved the day! Love pumpkin bread, so yummy with pecans and lots of spices; we eat it toasted for breakfast! The One Pie brand tastes better than most canned pumpkin, and looks better too, it's a bright orange. Since the fist shipment arrived dented, the local UPS store sent me six more!
Saturday (the 21st) shopping at the RAM market:
We ate lunch at Moon River Pizza after going to the RAM, this was the first time we ordered her a salad; usually we share our two with her, but she can eat a "half-size" one now.
AA and I want to strengthen our arms (and body) so have a monkey bar challenge going on. Her problem is that she isn't tall enough to jump up to the bars by herself (at two different parks, she is too short; there is one in St. Augustine she can do by herself), so has to have one of us there anyways to get her started. Onto stronger arms! In six months we shall see if we met our goal!
Made lots of pumpkin bread loaves!
 Baked!
Ford bought a popcorn machine from Craig's list and we finally set it up and are enjoying the smell of fresh popcorn in the afternoons!
I made a new recipe called Shrimp Creamy Piccata, very good, although I love the original Piccata recipes!
Friday (the 20th), AA had her golf lesson, then we took "Cowboy Ranch Beans" to Leaa and Jesse's for dinner, plus I tried "Pumpkin Pie Dip" on them (with graham crackers and ginger snap cookies for dipping). All good (just no photos!).
