Magnolia Point - U.S. Kids Jacksonville Spring Championship (Part 1)

AA won the U.S. Kids Jacksonville Spring Tour final tournament held at Magnolia Point Golf Club (GCS) with her best score (brag, brag) of one over par (37). She came in first place. She did not win the Championship Title for the season as she missed one tournament (the first in February) and did not place first over one other girl in the other tournaments (BS).
A friend who lives in the Golf Club neighborhood, rode along and took these photos. They are all amazing. We have several more, but this is enough to get the idea. He has professional equipment and loves taking photos of his son who is a championship high school swimmer. Thank you Ralph B.!

I am so far behind on my blogging (family photos and activities). AA played in the Harmony Orlando Tournament and placed second, met up with a DHS Alumni, we are enjoying the Club swimming pool, burgers at the Cabana, grill nights at the River House, our visit with Ralph and Sandy; and we enjoyed our Memorial Day Weekend fun. Summer is here (school is not out until June 4th!).  I will catch up soon!

Mother's Day - First Grade Mother's Day Tea

Alyzabeth's school class held a beautiful Mother's Day Tea. The children sang songs, read a book to us and served us a plate of sweets and savories.
Each child wrote two pages of lovely things about their Mom, painted a flower pot, drew our portrait and made a bookmark. All so sweet! Mrs. Woods did a good job!

Some of the things AA wrote include she likes it when I tuck her into bed, when I tickle her and I can spell big words! She also wrote: "She goes to work for us to have money"! She will never know that her Daddy worked very hard including lots of shift work and overtime hours; she will always know him as the "stay-at-home-daddy" which is what we love best! A parent at home is worth so much, domestic peace!

Saturday, we enjoyed the day strolling amongst the plants, flowers and vendors. Popsicles, herbs, friends (Kenny and Pam) and family (Cathy, Werner, Marsha, Carl, plus the kids and grands). We selected our favorite plants and received some unexpected gifts! A great way to spend the day before Mother's Day!

Teacher Appreciation Last Week and Mother's Day "Craft"

We love our little neighborhood school. There is much emphasis on volunteering and many "appreciation weeks". We received three sheets of paper, 8.5 by 11 inches to tell us what we could and should do for Teacher Appreciation Week. Yes, for three teachers. We love the little school that AA attends, it has great parent involvement and I do need these suggestions and reminders about what I should be doing as a parent for the school. Reminders about our volunteer hours and if we have not met the "goal". The fund raisers consisting of buying over priced products that I can buy for half the price elsewhere; the beautification school grounds clean-up days, etc. The list goes on. So the "gentle" reminder get me going in the right direction. I bought items on the list from school supplies to gift cards for three teachers. One day is flower or plant day. I did try to get a little creative by labeling each plant with the teacher's name. I didn't look at Pinterest as I knew I would really stress out seeing many great "crafty" ideas. I think I will just write a personal note to AA's first grade teacher to thank her for the attention she gives each child and how her quarterly comments brighten our day. Yep, a thank you note.

Thinking of a Mother's Day family gathering is a great thought. But, we seem to have trouble coming up with a reasonable place that will accommodate about 20 of us to all enjoy, including activities for the grands/little ones. We have given up on restaurants as our group is large and is always too confining for too long (plus expensive).  We need a central fun place that we can spread out and no one person (or family) has the job of entertaining all of us. We are stumped!
In the mean time, we sent our cards and made one small crafty item for our two youngest Mom's.

We decided to all meet up at Maggie's Herb Farm's Annual Open House on Saturday, which is perfect and us Mom's get to pick out some potted herbs!
