The Pool - April - Finally Warm Enough!

Finally time to get in the pool without a wet suit! Beautiful hot days ahead! It's summertime!

Also, today (the 27th) was Livi's birthday; Happy No. 8! We had a nice party on (yesterday) Saturday at Marsha's home. The kids had fun!

The Wedding - Lindsey & Nick

A year since the bridal shower, the wedding date finally came! Lindsey (daughter of our friends Kenny and Pam) was gorgeous, beautiful and lovely. The ceremony at Grace UMC had all the elements: humor, a few tears of joy and the Holy Spirit. I sneaked a few photos while waiting for the trolley to take us to the White Room. The ceremony was accompanied by a friend Colin K. We know him and his family as Club members and their kids go to AA's school (OPE). He is a very talented musician (plays in the Jacksonville Orchestra).

The White Room was decorated with photos, unique large mirror with the table assignments, fresh flowers and a roof-top cocktail hour!

We spent most of our time catching up with Ralph and Sandy's news (raising their grand-son and his prom night).

The newly married couple made a grand entrance and had their first dance to Crazy Love.

The food was wonderful including a seafood bar and southern style shrimp and grits in martini glasses. We wish the couple happiness the rest of their lives!

The Past Week April 20 - 26th

AA plays golf most every day, now more at the Fleming Island Plantation Golf Course, where she takes her lessons. We are still missing her departed Coach Doug, so are happy that her new Coach is kind and patient.

AA attended a school friends (and Club member); a dual birthday party for brother and sister (Jane and Dax). A great party, Friday right after school, with snacks, drinks, lawn games and a huge slide/bouncy contraption! I think there were 40 kids so the tug of war game was fun with the kids.

Saturday, the 26th was Alivia's 8th Birthday party, hosted at the home of Carl and Marsha. They added a pool and it is beautiful! The Grand-Dad's:

We left early to go to Nick and Lindsey's wedding, so AA rode home with big sister Leaa and had a sleep over!

Easter Weekend April 18 - 20, 2014

We enjoyed our weekend with AA's Grandpa and Nana in Okeechobee. Lots of great food and fun! The Easter Bunny remembered AA at their home, lots of chocolate and a few treats to find.

Easter Brunch was delicious; Nana Joy cooks yummy meals. Plus, we enjoyed mimosas too!

Candy was not hidden very well; the Easter bunny must have been in a hurry!

Saturday dinner was a delicious mini-Thanksgiving dinner with chicken and stuffing, cranberry, rolls, green beans, homemade cake, fresh tomatoes, etc!

Of course, can't miss a day of golfing; went to a different course, in Indiantown: Indian Woods. A very nice course; will go again when near Okeechobee.

The past week, I had cake and presents and lots of cards! Hubby and AA gave me lots of gifts, from roses, lip gloss, golf ball retriever to gift cards and a beautiful cake.

Bill and Joan were here; they took us to lunch and dinner and were so thoughtful with two bottles of very fine wine. We enjoyed their company, meals together and lots of wine!

My Mom sent me a new pair of Tevas from L. L. Bean; I love these and wear them everyday in Florida. She also gave me a new L.L. Bean purse and lots of smaller goodies (and some for AA too!).

We had a great week, we are so happy, felt special with all the Facebook messages and Happy Birthday cards! Thank you!

Florida United Methodist Children's Home - News Update

Good Friday! We have a huge need for donations for our children at FUMCH.
Please let us know if you can help with this list for our north campus, the new Madison Youth Ranch. We need to collect and deliver items to the Ranch by our next 5th Sunday, June 29th.
